Message frequency will vary depending on your communications and interactions with Porter Law Group.

You may receive multiple messages depending on the nature of your inquiry, scheduled appointments, legal matter, or communications with our office.

3.MESSAGE AND DATA RATES

Message and data rates may apply.

Your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data rates may apply to SMS and MMS messages. Porter Law Group is not responsible for any charges imposed by your mobile carrier.

4. HOW TO OPT OUT

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages from Porter Law Group at any time by replying: STOP

After you send “STOP,” you may receive a confirmation message indicating that you have been unsubscribed. After opting out, you will no longer receive SMS messages from Porter Law Group unless you provide consent again.

You may also contact our office directly to request that SMS communications be discontinued.

6. NO ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP CREATED BY SMS

Sending a text message to Porter Law Group, receiving a text message from Porter Law Group, or communicating with our office through SMS does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.

An attorney-client relationship is established only after Porter Law Group has completed its intake and conflict-check procedures and an appropriate attorney-client engagement has been formally established.

If you are not an existing client, please do not send highly sensitive, confidential, or time-sensitive legal information by text message unless specifically requested by our office.

7. CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

Although Porter Law Group takes reasonable measures to protect communications and information, SMS and mobile-device communications may not be completely secure or confidential.

Text messages may be stored on your mobile device, transmitted through your mobile carrier, or accessible to individuals who have access to your device or mobile account.

By choosing to communicate with Porter Law Group by text message, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

For matters involving particularly sensitive information, Porter Law Group may use other communication methods or secure systems.

8. EMERGENCY AND TIME-SENSITIVE COMMUNICATIONS

Text messaging should not be relied upon for emergency communications or matters requiring immediate legal action.

Porter Law Group does not guarantee that text messages will be read or responded to immediately.

If you have an emergency requiring immediate assistance, contact the appropriate emergency service or other appropriate resource rather than relying on SMS communication with Porter Law Group.

9. CARRIER SUPPORT

SMS messaging may be available through participating wireless carriers. Wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

Porter Law Group is not responsible for messages that are delayed, undelivered, or otherwise affected by your wireless carrier, mobile device, network availability, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

10. CHANGES TO SMS TERMS

Porter Law Group may modify these SMS Terms from time to time.

Any updated SMS Terms will be posted with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued participation in Porter Law Group’s SMS communications after any changes may constitute acceptance of the updated terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

11. PRIVACY

Your information is handled in accordance with Porter Law Group’s Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information.

Nothing in these SMS Terms limits any confidentiality, privacy, attorney-client privilege, or other protections that may apply under applicable law or professional obligations.
